Performance Workshop (Wellington)

  • 09 Nov 2014
  • 1:20 PM
  • Ngaio Town Hall, 1 Ottawa Rd, Ngaio

Does the thought of performing make your heart race, or give you sweaty palms? Are you worried about an upcoming exam or other performance? Are you frustrated by playing better in the practice room than you do on stage, or even in your lessons?

Come along to Ingrid's workshop, have a practice performance, and get tips on dealing with performance anxiety and improving your stage presence.

Play something you're working on (any level is fine!) and get feedback on your performance from Ingrid; or just observe the workshop. We will be creating a very safe and supportive environment for all performers.

Ingrid is also going to play something herself. Performance anxiety isn't just an amateur's problem! (Please contact Ingrid if you would like to play on Ingrid's pedal harp.)

There is limited parking at the town hall. If you are not bringing a harp, please be considerate of those who are, and leave them a close parking space!

When: Sunday November 9th. Set up and tune from 1pm, workshop start at 1:20pm. Finish and pack up at 2:40 to be out of the hall by 3pm. (A volunteer to help Ingrid set out some chairs at 1pm would be much appreciated!)

Where: Ngaio Town Hall, 1 Ottawa Rd, Ngaio

Cost: $5 to play, gold coin donation to observe (this covers the cost of hall hire).

RSVP: If you wish to play, contact Ingrid . First in, first served. Maximum 7 performers. No RSVP necessary for observers.
