A Ceremony of Carols

The Voices and Vocal Ensemble of Age of Discovery will be joined by Christchurch harpist, Helen Webby, in their upcoming concert "A Ceremony of Carols" featuring Christmas music spanning five centuries on Saturday 13 December, 7.30pm, at St Patrick's Cathedral on Wyndham Street, Auckland.

The group, which specialises in music of the 17th and 18th centuries, is also making new discoveries by including two works by present-day NZ composers Chris Artley and Andrew Baldwin.

Made up of local talents, the Voices of Age of Discovery will be joined by top harpist, Helen Webby, in the title piece, Benjamin Britten's celebrated A Ceremony of Carols.

Works by Vittoria, Praetorius, Tavener and Howells will also feature in the free concert.
